A Brief Overview The Enterprise Data & Analytics Team plays critical role in enabling Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) as a data driven enterprise. Its mission is to ingest, manage, and transform the enterprise's data assets into actionable insights which improve the healthcare delivery system. The Enterprise Data & Analytics team functions include Data Engineering, Data Trust & Enablement, Business Intelligence, Analytics Services (Visualization, Process Improvement, and Business Analysis), Application Development, and Advanced Analytics.

The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for aligning the future state enterprise information architecture with enterprise strategic goals and objectives. This role collaborates with analytics leadership, partners with analytics engineers, analysts and subject matter experts from cross-functional clinical/business areas to define standardized data models and ensure that the models are optimized to support data driven decision making. This position would oversee the data models built by analytics engineers and analysts dedicated to support various functions of the enterprise.

The ideal candidate will have experience in enterprise-level Health care data architecture with a deep understanding of the latest trends, tools, and best practices.

What you will do Support Enterprise Data Architecture roadmap by managing architectural runway for enterprise data model and relevant enterprise data platform capabilities. Provide data architecture thought leadership to cross-functional teams in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, data discovery, database design and implementation. Lead the development and management of standardized data models that are efficient and easy to use across the organization. Help develop standards and best practices for data modelling and develop ways to ensure conformity across the team. Build usable data infrastructure that is supportable, secure, and of high quality. Collaborate with the team to improve the overall performance of data storage and data access. Help improve data quality of the assets. Provide technical oversight and guidance on data architecture decision making. Mentor high performing team, motivate, and develop staff to maximize their contributions. Contribute to enterprise data governance standards; educate and support colleagues to ensure that data is used appropriately. Act as the voice of the customer to offer concrete feedback, and advocate for analytics within the business itself. Communicate changes and collaborate across the business to manage large changes that have significant business impact Additional duties as assigned.

The department works approximately 80% remotely, 20% on site in our Philadelphia offices on an as-needed basis.

Education Qua ifications Bachelor's Degree Required Master's Degree Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field Preferred Experience Qualifications At least seven (7) years Data Warehousing Platforms/tools (Data Models, ETL/ELT solutions) Required At least five (5) years Healthcare domain experience Required At least ten (10) years Data Warehousing Platforms/tools (including ETL/ELT solutions) (OR) Database administration Preferred At least one (1) year working with at least one of the public cloud platforms such AWS/Azure/GCP. Preferred Skills and Abilities Extensive experience in dimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models, handling slow-changing dimensions/attributes (Required proficiency) Experience with Healthcare data models like EPIC Clarity/Caboodle, OMOP, IBM, Teradata etc., as well custom models. (Required proficiency) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally (Required proficiency) Expertise in data modeling software such as ERWin or other comparable tool. Knowledge of version control systems such as Git. Experience utilizing Agile methodology Basic knowledge of data integration tools: dbt, Informatica, MS Integration Services etc. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personas and make complex ideas understood. Knowledge of big data toolset: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, sqoop etc. Ability to code with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, groovy etc.,
