Lilly Director / Senior Director - MRI Scientist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Organization Overview:

The Senior Director MRI Scientist role will occupy a key position within the advanced image analysis team to support the discovery and development of MRI methods and analysis to further our understanding of pathology of disease in such diseases as neurodegenerative diseases. The individual will also serve a role in biomarker validation and lead biomarker strategies to integrate biomarker and imaging in preclinical and clinical studies. Coordination and partnership with Lilly therapeutic, biomarker and clinical teams will be essential to ensure integration of novel imaging and biomarker methods.

Responsibilities:

In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implement customized MRI (structural, functional, diffusion) image analysis methods, leveraging novel and standard methodologies.

  • Assess MRI endpoints as diagnostic and efficacy biomarkers.

  • Provide strategic and technical input on the development, implementation and quantitative evaluation of medical image analysis techniques in various phases of clinical development across therapeutic areas such as Neuroscience, Diabetes, Immunology.

  • Lead cross-functional projects with internal research and clinical (medical, operations, statistics, regulatory) teams as well as external partners to support the validation of imaging biomarkers and their application in therapeutic development.

  • Evaluate key scientific developments in image analysis and implement emerging technologies including modeling and artificial intelligence.

  • Author and review clinical trial documents (protocols, study reports, and technical manuals).

  • Communicate, present, and publish conference abstracts and manuscripts.

Basic Requirements:

  • PhD in Medical Imaging, Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering or related discipline with minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Evidence of your direct role and contribution to the medical image analysis field (publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, presentations at imaging-related conferences and/or developed software codes).

  • Participation in clinical trials and implementation of MRI biomarkers.

  • Knowledge of structural, diffusion, functional MRI procedures and acquisition protocols.

  • Proven expertise in programming and medical imaging & statistical software

  • Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to travel 5-10 %

  • Location: Indianapolis HQ Office, or Philadelphia office location
