Director of Personal Care & Resident Services is responsible to make a compelling difference in the lives of our residents through providing excellence and innovation in aging services. Director of Personal Care & Resident Services is responsible for strategic leadership, program development and implementation, and overall administration of Personal Care, Homecare, and Wellness Services in accordance with community and resident needs, government regulations, projected industry changes, and WEL policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Takes an active role in developing Personal Care, Home Care and Wellness staff through team building, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

  • Provide training to home care and clinic staff to effectively provide resident care as outlined in their job descriptions and function independently.

  • Develops standards of quality, clinical excellence, resident safety, resident satisfaction, and staff engagement.

  • Develops reporting metrics on quality standards and satisfaction levels and publishes results on a quarterly basis. Takes appropriate action to correct any deficiencies in quality and satisfaction identified in such reports.

  • Conducts on-going meetings to reviews resident assessments and other resident status changes and updates with all stakeholders.

  • Manages and reviews records and charts of participants for pertinent information, and staff documentation, to ensure a comprehensive and compliant medical record is in place.

  • Develops both long term and short term strategic plans to ensure overall growth and development of all areas overseen.

  • Preparation and management of annual functional budgets to ensure effective and efficient financial stewardship of WEL fiscal resources.

  • Develops appropriate staffing levels and ratios. Provides guidance as needed to scheduler to ensure staffing levels are met.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and WEL policies and procedures.

  • Completes and submits required reports, including, but not limited to, responses to Department of Public Welfare audits and reviews, in a timely manner.

  • Maintains and updates knowledge of prospective changes within the industry, both within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and throughout the United States.

  • Provides on-going and timely communication on resident status with families and/or resident support systems to promote positive and informed relationships.

  • Directs the clinical operations and supervisory activities of all department supervisors and evaluates adherence to performance standards.

  • Develops a schedule of staff educational opportunities including in-services, equipment/technology training, continuing education, and membership and/or certification in Aging and Geriatrics.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident and staff personal or health information.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Related Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years Administrative Management of a Personal Care/Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing or Long Term, Post-Acute Care program required.

  • Expert knowledge of current Pennsylvania Personal Care regulations as well as proposed Pennsylvania DPW changes to Personal Care/Assisted Living models.

  • Successful implementation of redesign of program operations, strategic planning, expansion of services, and/or development of service models within a Personal Care/Assisted Living, SNF, or LTAC model.

    Education or Degree Requirement:

  • Minimum BS in Health Care Administration, Human Services, Registered Nursing or related field.

  • Masters level degree in related field strongly preferred.

    Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:

  • PCA credential required.

  • LPN license required.
