The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Candidates must be ABIM certified or eligible in Rheumatology.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents and fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include caring for patients within the University of Pennsylvania Health System with a variety of rheumatic diseases, including through sub-specialty programs for lupus, myositis, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, Sjögren's syndrome, spondyloarthritis, and vasculitis, and a multidisciplinary Musculoskeletal Center.

There will be an expectation of the ability of the candidate to provide management and/or leadership. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include projects related to the role of Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, or other areas of concentration and collaborating on research projects across the Rheumatology division, department and/or school.

The Penn Division of Rheumatology is seeking to recruit a faculty member who, in addition to being an active expert clinician, would also be provided protected administrative time to be the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Division. The Director will advance a positive and effective culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion, including for all levels of trainees, faculty, and staff, and regarding the Division’s work with patients and the broad Philadelphia community.
