Work on data science projects related to online scientific computing; Help design and help code algorithms related to simulation of data and optimization of functions over data; Help design and code algorithms related to forecasting, statistical hypothesis testing calibration of classical methods to data; Design and help implement algorithms for statistical learning, including calibration of classical methods, and big data methods for efficient preprocessing and sorting of data; Participate in code reviews and learnings. Requires master's degree in applied mathematics and computation science or related. Knowledge of algebraic techniques to judge the complexity of different algorithms used in data analysis and optimization; mathematical analysis to decompose user-specified problem into viable solution methods; programming languages like C and C++ and object-oriented (OOP) techniques for describing proposed solutions to actual coding language; understanding of advanced probability for understanding bootstrapping of confidence intervals for forecasting and hypothesis testing; ability to estimate computational costs of the different programming approaches.
