Position Summary: The selected co-op employee will be asked to work closely with highway engineers to carry out an array of assigned tasks. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Construction drawing preparation Making revisions to existing engineering drawings Design of small engineering projects Assembling data and assisting with problem-solving requiring basic theories and engineering fundamentals Utilizing computer programs to solve engineering problems, Assisting with layout and design of small and medium-sized engineering project, quantity calculations, preparation of reports, specification development Maintaining accurate and current project documentation Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Experience Pre-Junior or Senior level student in Civil Engineering Qualifications Preferred Coursework related to field previous internship experience AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience Working Conditions Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Work shifts are required during night time hours.
