Job Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial and operational functions of a high-volume department engaged in fundraising and alumni relations both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight: Manage and reconcile monthly reports, ensure compliance with University policies, and provide quarterly budget projections. You'll work closely with the Business Manager to streamline processes, optimize costs, and support vendor management.

  • Administrative Leadership: Supervise and train administrative support staff, ensuring smooth daily operations. You will be the go-to person for policy enforcement and operational efficiency within the department.

  • Operational Management: Oversee departmental operations, including inventory, maintenance, and visitor management, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Reporting & Analysis: Utilize tools like Qlikview, Smartview, Data Warehouse, and Hyperion to analyze spending and produce budget reports. Your insights will be crucial during the fiscal year and year-end closing processes.

  • Payroll Support: Act as a backup for payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all department personnel.

Who We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who thrives in an autonomous role, with a strong background in financial and operational management. You should be comfortable leading a team, managing multiple priorities, and driving process improvements. Your ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with various stakeholders will be key to success in this role.

Key Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • Strong financial and accounting management skills required.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms.

  • Familiarity with Ben Financials and experience with expense processing and business reporting tools like Qlikview, Smartview, and Business Objects preferred.

  • Familiarity with fundraising and international expenses desired.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).

  • This position requires flexibility, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team. Excellent organization skills, customer service orientation, and attention to detail required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
