WuXi AppTec Associate Director, Human Resources Business Partner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Overview

Responsible for the human resources strategy and support for assigned business unit. Maintain relationships by being a strategic partner with management. Provide HR recommendations and guidance, manage performance management processes, and resolve employee relations issues. Manage and supervise site HR staff

Responsibilities

• Site HR leadership and partnering with senior management on all human capital needs including organizational design and development, employee and management development, and talent review and identification.

• Supervise HR Generalist and HR Coordinator, providing direction, guidance and feedback.

• Responsible for site Affirmative Action Plan.

• Responsible for performance management process and systems, including providing guidance to management on appropriate disciplinary actions.

• Responsible for conducting thorough & objective investigations as needed.

• Serve as agent of change during times of significant growth, reorganizations, leadership changes and other periods of change.

• Work with HR and Operations teams to assist with the planning, communicating and tracking of company – wide initiatives.

• Conduct needs assessment, and identify resources to delivery training and other programs to support the growth of the site.

• Develop HR policies and programs and communication plans.

• Dotted line responsibility for PHL recruiting team. Coach and mentor recruiters assigned to site recruiting activities.

• Compile and review site metrics; reduce voluntary attrition/

• Responsible for New Hire Orientation Program including scheduling, revising & enhancing.

• Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.

• Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.

• Accomplishes staff results by communicating updated organizational information, job expectations & supporting their work

• Plans, monitors, and appraises direct reports including performance competencies, goals & job results

• Coaches, counsels, and conducts disciplinary actions

• Develops, coordinates, and follows organizational systems, policies, procedures, and follows labor and capacity standards

• Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required and

• 5+ years relevant experience and min 2 years Managing people

• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience

• PHR or SPHR Certification a plus

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Knowledge of Federal, state and local laws pertaining to personnel administration and various compensation and benefit plans and practices.

• Demonstrated success in employee relations, and performance management

• Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills

• Need to be able to read, write and understand English

• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Travel is required 10% , Domestic/International, Daily / Overnight
