Temple University Assistant Director for International Student Affairs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 24001954 Description For the Office of Global Engagement in a University (Temple University, Department of International Student Affairs - Philadelphia, PA): coordinate and implement programs, services and trainings; manage transition and acculturation programs; collaborate with university stakeholders to ensure that international students are engaged; coordinate designed programs and services for the international community; oversee the Peer2Peer mentoring program for new students, including organizing a curriculum guided by best practices in international education, mentoring student leaders and analyzing student outcomes; implement international student leadership program; assist the director with developing an international student leadership "pathway" program; co-administer the Global Living Learning Community, and develop and deliver an academic curriculum for the first-year global seminar each Fall semester; serve as a liaison to the university's international academic advisors; coordinate an annual training with the Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT); lead University-wide programming efforts to strategically increase interactions between international students, domestic students, and the university community; coordinate relevant programming and orientation sessions for new students; support the Director in managing international student concerns and problems; benchmark programming and curricula from institutions of higher education and professional organizations to keep current on developments in the field of international student affairs and international education; and contribute to the team effort by accepting additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Education, TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), Curriculum Development or a related field.

2.3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in international student affairs in a higher education setting. The required experience must include international student management, curriculum design and/or program development, and teaching. Experience can be gained while pursuing degree.

3.Proficiency in Banner.

4.Familiarity with federal and state regulations affecting international student status and familiarity with FERPA, HIPAA, and similar federal and state regulations affecting higher education student status.
