Northwest MI Habitat for Humanity General Contractor/Builder (Residential Construction) in Petoskey, Michigan

Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity is seeking a General Contractor/Builder to oversee the completion of several ongoing and new builds (1-8 homes). Work will be contracted on a per-home basis. To be eligible, you must be a licensed and insured builder with a history of successful residential construction experience. Full-time employment may also be considered.

The scope of work will very based on site, but in general may include overseeing permitting, site prep and finishing, trades management, material sourcing, home finishing (siding, minor roofing, interior doors, trim, wall and floor mending, walls to prime, etc.). All but one site (Pellston) are located in Alanson. An ideal candidate will be available to begin work within the next 30 days.

Requirements:

  • Licensed and insured
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and ability to travel to locations
  • Experienced: project management, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, siding, and drywall.
  • Maintain OSHA standards for a safe and clean worksite
  • Performs work in a professional and courteous manner
  • Pass a background check
