Role Definition
As a Senior Engineering Project Team Leader in the Emissions and Product Regulatory Compliance department, you will have leadership responsibility for the business side of development, deployment, and maintenance of Caterpillar’s bespoke software systems that support various certification and compliance workflows. You will leverage expert knowledge of project leadership as well as software and IT systems to shape the vision and development roadmap for those systems. You will manage multiple or complex development projects involving multiple organizations, products, and jurisdictions to deliver solutions to meet current and future regulatory requirements and support business process execution.
Responsibilities
Develop project scope and execution plans to address business challenges and opportunities.
Coordinate resources across the department, engineering groups, manufacturing facilities, IT and other functional areas as needed.
Oversee project progress and costs; communicate status with stakeholders and participating organizations; address and resolve problems; drive projects to completion on time and within budget.
Direct project staffing, motivate and develop project team and team members.
Manage a portfolio of high-impact, short and long duration initiatives and projects, ensuring effective prioritization of resources, achievement of development plans, usability, and business value realization.
Provide specialized technical support and consulting to various areas of the organization.
Develop and maintain a strategic development roadmap; partner with IT to ensure software architecture sustainably supports execution to the roadmap.
Degree Requirement
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience desired

Project Management: Expert knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
Team Management: Expert knowledge of effective team building techniques; proven ability to form and manage effective teams through complex, cross-functional projects.
Requirements Development and Analysis: Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirements development and analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of how to leverage software to support complex, business critical processes; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Education : A degree in an accredited Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related curriculum.
Top candidates will also have
Experience as part of a software development team using various methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Experience integrating multiple software systems and/or leveraging data lake technology.
Extensive knowledge of Teamcenter and other product data management systems.
Experience with Caterpillar's CDM system.
Understanding of master data management principles and experience as a data owner.
Expert knowledge in use of Microsoft content management, collaboration, and reporting tools including SharePoint and Power BI.
Experience with multiple approaches to change management and leading teams to successful implementation of new processes and tools.

The location for this position is Mossville, IL (Building-AC) or Peterborough, UK.
Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
This position may require less than 15% travel.
