Meridian University Facilities Coordinator in Petaluma, California

About the Position

Meridian University is looking for a Facilities Coordinator at its Bay Area Center. In this role you will perform general office administration, ensure the facilities' maintenance, and support daily operations for on-site needs.

The Bay Area Center, located in Petaluma, CA, hosts a small number of on-site learning labs each year and offers a boutique student learning experience. The property is centered around a restored Spanish colonial building which was built in the 1920s and has since been converted into a collection of both classrooms for the University's use and office spaces which are leased to Meridian-aligned professionals. A small, tightly-knit team of on-site staff work closely with one another and with University staff around the world, to provide students with a transformative educational experience.

Classification: Part-time with the opportunity to grow into full-time

Location: On-site* at Meridian University's Bay Area Center in Petaluma, CA

*This is not a hybrid or remote position.

Hours: 20 hours per week. Business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:45am to 5:15pm. A consistent schedule of four hours per day, during business hours, to be determined upon hire.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-day

  • Assure the timely opening and secure closing of the facilities each day

  • Support leasing and tenant needs

  • Coordinate third-party use of conference rooms

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail

  • Complete forms and perform data entry

  • Track and maintain inventories

  • Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs

  • Perform general housekeeping (most cleaning is outsourced)

  • Support off-site teams as needed

During on-site events

  • Greet and escort visitors

  • Act as a main point of contact, answer questions, and provide directions to ensure a seamless experience

  • Set up and maintain meeting rooms

  • Support scheduling, ordering, and additional event management

    Required Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills

  • A sense of initiative, curiosity, and an interest in learning and growth

  • Ability to self-manage, problem solve, and ask meaningful questions to ensure high quality outcomes with minimal supervision

  • Exceptional time management skills

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in an office setting

  • Prior experience working in hospitality

  • Familiarity with Microsoft programs

  • Experience working in Salesforce

  • A bachelor's degree

  • An interest in the fields of higher education, psychology, and/or business
