Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the Manufacturing industry, based in Petaluma, California. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the accounts payable email inbox, tracking and verifying payables, and providing customer service to colleagues, management, and vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Co-manage a busy accounts payable email inbox and track the status of open payables.

• Ensure the three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and vendor bills.

• Review bills for appropriate documentation and approval before entering them in the accounting software system.

• Obtain and reconcile vendor statements with bills to ensure timely and accurate accrual of expenses.

• Process check requests, expense reports, credit cards, and tax payments, ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received.

• Co-manage the weekly A/P payment run and facilitate the payment of vendors.

• Meet deadlines for due dates, invoice discounts, and month-end close.

• Assist with the calculation and reporting of sales/use tax based on paid invoices.

• Maintain all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files in an orderly manner.

• Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions. Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience in the role of an Accounts Payable Specialist or a similar position in the Manufacturing industry.

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with various departments and vendors.

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.

• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be adaptable and comfortable with change as we continually improve our processes to better serve our customers.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality, as this role deals with sensitive financial information.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills; able to identify, address, and resolve issues promptly and effectively.

• Familiarity with general ledger systems and operations is a plus.

• Must have the legal right to work in the location of the job.
