Abbott Planning Analyst in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • Responsible for demand & supply planning, inventory replenishment from source DC, tracking and following up of shipment from source to affiliate DC, inventory management on product expiry, slow moving & obsolesence. Ensure replenishment is at optimum to minimize freight cost. Coordinate with global planner on inventory availability.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review historical sales and establish a demand trend to build a baseline supply plan.

  • Drive monthly S&OP meetings to determine any one-off event, seasonality, and additional/reduction in demand due to market/customer penetration/exit to finalize the demand plan.

  • Review salable inventory on hand, stock in transit, safety stock level, and transit time to work the supply requirement and raise the order.

  • Regular review of inventory DOH (Days On Hand) to minimize out-of-stock and backorder. Collaborate with the team to expedite backorder from the source

  • Collaborate with the team to align on inventory holding strategy, safety stock, order frequency, minimum shelf life, lot sequestering & shipping mode to maximize order fill rate and minimize inventory holding and freight cost

  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to track the shipment for timely departure and arrival. Coordinate on delay or discrepancy

  • Regular review of inventory to reduce slow-moving, obsolescence, and distressed inventory

  • Responsible for initiating Change Request for all new material master creation, extension, or revision in SAP

  • Collaborate with affiliates logistics and 3PL on inventory accuracy at the warehouse.

  • Responsible for timely inventory destruction at the warehouse. Coordinate with the internal team for the disposition of idle instruments at the warehouse

  • Responsible to maximize the use of planning tools and provide feedback for improvement on the planning process

  • 1st contact point for the inventory availability

  • Publish/review Supply Chain metrics with inventory, distress, order fill rate, backorder value as well as performance.

  • Support Area on continuous improvement program to drive efficiency and Gross Margin Improvement initiatives

  • Regular review and update on the playbook to keep it up to date against the actual process.

  • Ensure all workflow and processes adhere to the policy and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 4 years of working experience in forecast planning or supply chain in global healthcare, medical device, pharma, or FMCG with 1-2 years in APAC or SEA region.

  • Experience in using SAP.

  • Possess an analytical and problem-solving mindset with a strong sense of numbers.

  • Experience in dealing with inbound logistics and warehouse operations.

  • Computer literacy. Strong in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI. Knowledge of macro is a plus.
