Abbott Logistics Analyst in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for affiliate warehousing, distribution, transportation & logistics operation. Assess and make proposal to improve operation efficiency to reduce freight and distribution cost as a % of revenue. Improve warehouse operation to comply with stringent QA guideline. Support Customer Service & Logistics Head, Global Logistics and Procurement on warehouse/transportation tender.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for coordinating with 3PL the day to day warehouse, transportation and logistics operation support for the affiliates

  • Collaborate with Source Distribution Center or affiliate Distribution Center to ensure inbound shipment and outbound orders are timely process per agreed service level agreement

  • Collaborate with warehouse operation to ensure inventory accuracy in terms of Lot #, quantity & quality

  • Define and review inventory cycle count process and coodinate annual inventory count (as require)

  • Collabrate with Planning and 3PL to ensure damaged/expired inventories are destroyed timely & regularly

  • Work closely with Planning, Customer Service, forwarder, custom broker and warehouse to resolve any logistics related escalation

  • Collaborate and support Global Trade Compliance team on global driven project and annual reporting of Global Duty Spend

  • Review and keep up to date on changes to custom regulation

  • Support Area Customer Service & Logistics and Global Logistics in warehouse and transportation tender

  • Publish/review Logistics metric to monitor performance of warehouse and transportation supplier and automate reporting

  • Support Area on continuous improvement programme (including sustainability program) to drive efficiency and Gross Margin Improvement initiatives that reduces Freight & Distribution cost profile

  • Regular review and provide feedback to managers to any process gaps on Logistics playbook to keep it up to date against actual process

  • Ensure all workflow and processes adher to Abbott OEC policy and procedures

EDUCATION/ BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree holder from Supply Chain Management, Logistics or other related discipline

  • At least 4 years of working experience in warehouse/distributor operation, import/export logistics & custom brokerage of global healthcare, medical device, pharma or FMCG with 1-2 years in a regional cluster

  • Candidate with 5-7 years relevant working experience will be considered as Logistics Specialist

  • Experience using SAP, WMS or TMS is a plus

  • Knowledge on HS code & incoterms

  • Proactive, strong interpersonal and communication skills in multi-cultural enviroment

  • Passionate, self-driven & can do attitude

  • Proficient in reading and writing of English with multiligual of other Asian languages is a plus

  • Computer literacy. Strong in MS Excel and Powerpoint
