As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.
Job Summary:
The Helper (Trade Assistant) provides site support to mechanical fitters and riggers during power station outages performing maintenance and repairs to turbine equipment. We are seeking committed Trade Assistants who are willing to work up to a 12-hour day or night shift and have a strong safety focus. Outage locations are across Australia with extremes of heat and cold.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Cleans and maintains facilities and equipment.
Assists the mechanical fitters in performing moderate to complex overhaul and repair work on turbine power equipment.
Loading and unloading of equipment, stacking materials
General tasks that require push, pull or carry objects
Operate machinery and use of hand power tools
Ensure tools and equipment are stored safely
Driving duties to collect parts and consumables as required
Sentry duties
Perform other duties as assigned
Travel is required to regional areas for up to 60 days at a time to complete outage schedule
Ability and willingness to work a roster that can include 6 days per week for at least 10 hours per day
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Physically fit with good hearing, vision good coordination and manual dexterity
Class C Drivers Licence
White Card
Confined Space ticket
Work At Heights
Forklift licence (desired)
Experience working as a trade assistant (desired)
