Description

This Perrysburg, Ohio area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. If you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close, you will be preferred for this position. Participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes are also expected tasks. Those with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets are preferred.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

    Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Solid understanding of Construction Accounting

  • Command of month end closings

  • Strong familiarity with account reconciliation

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • 3+ years of recent and relevant project accounting experience

  • ERP system experience

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
