Job Overview

The Pilot Project Manager ensures that GHG Alliance projects such as introduction of Power Agnostic Diesel Trolley and Power Agnostic Battery Trolley solutions are successfully implemented in the field and stay on track by keeping consistent communication with the stakeholders, troubleshooting roadblocks.

This will be critical role while the Surface Haulage Business Unit transitions into a new product line in a competitive situation that will have a major impact on Komatsu Electric Drive Truck market share.

Customer satisfaction is key working closely with the distributors to execute successfully in the field.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Manage relationship between factory and Komatsu Distributor who will be responsible for field execution and new products. Management of factory solution with Distributor.

  • Improve customer experience and satisfaction. Need to have a successful deployment achieving KPI's and expectations.

  • Manage Contract, Quality and Performance management.

  • Escalation and resolution Management to achieve Pilot success.

  • Feedback to factory including Engineering, sales and support.

  • Develop project plans and schedules based on needs and resources.

  • Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders, ensuring all functional groups are aware of priorities and timelines.

  • Provide milestone reviews, keep management and stakeholders informed on project’s progress or issues. Update project’s tracking dashboards.

  • Interact and work closely with Program Managers, Product Directors, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing departments within Komatsu as well as with Distributor and Customer’s teams.

  • Promote open communication with the project teams to build common understanding of requirements and expectations.

  • Manage project priorities focusing on meeting deadlines.

  • Track, manage and follow through on action items via internal and external requests.

  • Escalate program risks to management as needed.

  • Typical travel requirement is 15% - 30%.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, technical background preferred.

  • 3-5 years of project management experience required.

  • 5-10 years of project management experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • PMP certification preferred.

  • Excellent written verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with business presentations.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to understand and work with diverse sources of information such as Engineering drawings, product cost targets, profit margins, etc.

  • Proficient work knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with PPM Pro or Smartsheet a plus.
