THE POSITION

We are searching for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Clerk 2. You will help our department by performing clerical tasks related to our transportation program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerk 2, you will be one of the first individuals that our community members interact with, so it is vital that you have top-notch customer service skills. You will dispatch drivers and vehicles, answer phones, schedule trips, appropriately route calls, maintain electronic and written records, and use a computer and tablet. We work in a collaborative environment, and you will be communicating with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. As part of your role, you must also develop a proficient operational understanding of the Wayne County Transportation System. Take the next step in your career and help those in your community!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You may be expected to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • You may be expected to travel out of the county, including overnight travel, for meetings or training.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or

  • Completion of a high school business curriculum; or

  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.
