THE POSITION

The Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging is seeking an Aging Case Aide 2 to assist seniors with available services and community resources that will help meet their needs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Within this role, you will be supporting the Community Based Services Assessment Division. This is advanced public contact work which assists senior citizens of Allegheny County with obtaining a wide range of services and understanding available community resources. You will have the opportunity to assist caseworkers in duties related to personal care home supplements (PCH), domiciliary care, protective services and other Area Agency on Aging (AAA) programs. Your duties will include record keeping, completing forms, and compiling reports. Effective communication both orally and in writing will be key as well as utilizing a working knowledge about AAA programs and the services of other community agencies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.

  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Aging Case Aide 1;or

  • Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
