POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Sonographer Coordinator, performs with minimal supervision a diversity of technical ultrasound assignments, diagnostic and complex in nature, which require theoretical insight and experience. Exercise complex skill, judgment and knowledge of the principles and methods of the radiographic technical field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Accurately conveys patient and exam information to the Radiologist and ordering physician in an attempt to provide the most efficient and best quality care possible.

  • Appropriately maintains and updates patient data in all forms (film, paper, etc.) in an organized, efficient and confidential manner.

  • Conveys a professional and courteous manner, keeping the patient and family informed and educated, while providing high quality and proficient care with the customer's needs as the primary focus.

  • Accommodates the scheduling demands of the ordering physicians and the patients in a timely manner.

  • Able to perform all technical elements of the position with minimal supervision after completion of the probationary period, with a minimal amount of technical errors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION:

    Minimum :

    Completion of training at an approved school in Ultrasound.

    Preferred :

    Registered specialist (ultrasound one year additional training at AMA approved school in ultrasound).

    LICENSE:

    PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

    Minimum :

    ARDMS within one year of hire

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    Preferred :

    Three years of varied ultrasound technology experience.

    SKILLS:

    Minimum :

    Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

    Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

    Computer literacy required.
