  • POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skill in the area of cardiac care including telemetry monitoring. The RN is accountable for patient family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. He/She promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a healing environment.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION:

  • Minimum :

  • Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program.

  • Preferred :

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

  • LICENSE:

  • Minimum :

  • Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.

  • PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum :

  • BLS and ACLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.

  • CPI obtained within 90 days of hire.

  • Basic Coronary Care obtained within 6 months of hire.

  • WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum :

  • Analytical skills to assess, prepare, implement and evaluate the outcomes of the plan of care patients and families

  • Preferred :

  • One to two years of successful performance as an RN in an Acute care setting.

  • SKILLS:

  • Minimum :

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.

  • Computer literacy

  • Preferred :

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record

  • Salary Range: $38.37-$43.45
