1 - First Shift

Are you a system thinker who uses your curiosity and ingenuity to identify customer needs, apply industry requirements and understanding of multiple technologies to innovate and optimize complex control systems? In this role you will identify stakeholder needs, derive requirements, conduct tradeoff analysis, develop algorithms and functional architectures, review product design, verify and trouble shoot systems. We are looking for a strong leader to work across a range of engineering disciplines to create unique solutions while having a strong focus on delivery and quality.

What You’ll Do

  1. Assist with gathering customer needs and lead translating these into detailed control system requirements.

  2. Lead the definition, analysis and allocation of requirements across the various engineering areas.

  3. Develop the high-level system architecture and perform trade-off analysis for design approaches.

  4. Plan machine-level system integration and testing approaches and procedures both virtually and physically.

  5. Provide technical leadership for a small to medium complex cross functional development projects .

    What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in the field of Systems, Software, Mechanical, Agricultural, Electrical, or Aerospace and four years of product development experience in software, electronics, hydraulics, system and/or machine controls design. Eight years of product development experience without engineering degree.

  • Proficient in developing electronic/hydraulic/mechanical control system.

  • Experience in identifying stakeholder needs and translating to system requirements.

  • Data-based decision analysis via structure methods (decision, Pugh and trade space analysis).

  • System integration and verification experience.

  • Skilled in advanced troubleshooting skills, and root cause analysis utilizing FMEA, 8d’s, and 6 sigma tools.

  • Strong preference for experience with model-based design and agile software development.

  • Experience using Matlab /Simulink, SYSML, Jira, and Dassault 3D Experience.

  • Familiar with J1939 multiplexed communication and diagnostic protocols.

  • Ability to communicate low details to broad system context based on needs of audience.

    Travel

    Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
