Mississippi Blood Services Lead Medical Technologist (MT,ASCP) 4:00PM-12:30AM in Pearl, Mississippi

This Position is for a Lead Medical Technologist (MT, ASCP) with a blood service agency located in Flowood, MS. Hours: 4:00 PM-12:30AM with On-Call week, weekend, and holiday rotation.

Summary: Techs perform immunohematology reference work and consultations for our customer hospitals in a pleasant and low stress environment. In addition to reference work, our techs process samples for outsourced testing; evaluate laboratory data and test results; investigate and resolve process issues; assist with evaluation, validation and implementation of new technology and instrumentation.

Duties and Responsibilities include: Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Medical Technologist at an acceptable level of proficiency at all times; Train Manufacturing and Distribution personnel; Perform document development and revisions (SOPs, Training Guides, Job Aides Forms); Obtain operational and troubleshooting competency on lab equipment; Assist Lab Management (Lookbacks, Product Investigations, Record Review, Reports to MSDOH, Variance Reporting and Investigations).

Qualifications and Requirements include: Bachelor's degree (B. S.)  Laboratory Science field from four-year college or university, MT (ASCP or equivalent); plus 1year related experience; Comfortable working independently within established guidelines; Detail oriented; patient and conscientious; Can interact with customers and co-workers in a helpful, supportive way; Pre-employment drug testing required.
