Responsibilities You will perform installation access control for pedestrians and vehicles utilizing standard operating procedures, written orders and regulatory requirements as a guide to assess determination for a wide range of unique circumstances. You will assist in providing initial response and traffic control for vehicular accidents, which may include providing first aid, requesting appropriate emergency responses, securing the scene and identifying witnesses. You will conduct Security activities at mission essential or vulnerable areas and high risk targets to include utilization of technology. You will protect U.S. Navy property and critical national strategic warfighting assets from hazards including, but not limited to, acts of terrorism, sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire and accidental or willful damage and destruction. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Authenticating identification for access to restricted areas; 2) Regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic to maintain traffic flow and security operations; 3) Granting or denying personnel access into restricted areas; and 4) Preforming private and commercial vehicle inspections and package inspections following prescribed procedures to ensure only authorized property is brought into or removed from facilities. GS-05: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Screening and/or inspecting personal and commercial vehicles requesting installation access; 2) Controlling personnel access by verifying identification/credentials; 3) Patrolling buildings or perimeters for suspicious activity; and 4) Maintaining desk logs, desk journals, and pass-down logbooks to document security events. GS-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least 6 months of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. This position requires rotating shift work. The position often requires irregular hours.
