Wencor Group Llc Manager of Foreign Trade Empowered Official in PEACHTREE CITY, Georgia

Overview of the Position:

The Manager of Wencor Foreign Trade assists with leading and managing the Company’s trade activities across all Wencor domestic and international locations covering the shipment and receipt of thousands of goods daily. In addition to ensuring smooth trade across international borders to support the Company’s business operations, this role assists with the oversight of the Company’s compliance with trade laws and regulations. The Wencor Foreign Trade Department sits within Wencor’s Legal Department, reports through the General Counsel, and works closely with the business units of the Company as well as the Company’s in-house and external legal counsel. The Manager of Wencor Foreign Trade will, in conjunction with the HEICO Trade Compliance Department, assist with the transition to and ongoing maintenance of the HEICO Foreign Trade program at Wencor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be a driver that leads the Company’s foreign trade activities both from a business support perspective and from a compliance perspective.

  • Liaise with business unit team members to ensure the timeliness of international shipments align with the Company’s operational needs and goals.

  • Be a leader for the Company’s foreign trade compliance and develop and implement policies, procedures, practices, training, documentation, and other activities to ensure trade compliance across all Company operations.

  • Interface directly with governmental regulatory agencies, and respond to requests, investigations, and inquires in a factual and timely manner.

  • Generate and approve correspondence, applications, and supporting documentation required for the submittal of governmental licenses, registrations, commodity jurisdictions, trade-related agreements, and voluntary self-disclosures.

  • Liaise with internal and external legal and trade counsel to manage compliance risks.

  • Proactively identify risk areas and take steps to correct and/or mitigate as appropriate.

    Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Due to US export control laws, must be a US citizen, permanent resident or have protected status.

  • Qualified to serve as an Empowered Official

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of U.S. and international trade regulations as well as parts classification, HTS classification, EAR and ITAR categories, customs valuations, commercial invoices, Automated Export System (AES) reporting and record keeping, country of origin analysis, denied party screening, FCPA compliance, and import/export documentation, procedures and filings.

  • Strong ethics with the ability to put compliance first

  • Ability to prepare, read, analyze, interpret, and complete legal and other complex documents.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or concerns from other Wencor team members, customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (including Microsoft Word with tracked changes), Adobe Systems Adobe Acrobat, and other general applications.

    Education / Experience Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field with at least 7 years’ experience working in a trade compliance function of a multi-national company; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Previous experience in aerospace or defense related industries strongly preferred.

    Reasoning Ability : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
