Salary $40,000-45,000

Family Continuity is seeking a Community-Based Behavioral Health Counselor to provide supportive treatment and direct care to individuals, families, and support systems

Family Continuityis rapidly expanding its energetic workforce to lead fast paced, innovative clinical programming in our six different sites throughout Northeast, Southeast and Central Massachusetts . Our mission for over 35 years is to inspire individuals and families to achieve overall wellness through counseling, support, education, and making connections to the community.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the assessment and ongoing evaluation of individuals and families.

  • Utilize insights gained in supervision and in team meetings to determine interventions and treatment strategies.

  • Assist individuals and families in gaining control over and insight into their behavior.

  • Provide 1:1 therapeutic mentoring and social skills modeling to adolescents and children while displaying creativity and flexibility in designing activities for youth.

  • Become familiar with systemic issues facing individuals and families and provide ongoing monitoring of any safety concerns.

  • Develop creative and proactive approaches to individual’ and families’ crisis patterns and help address their problems before they develop into crises.

  • Develop a healthy working relationship with other collaterals and community resources involved with individuals and families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related Human Services

  • One year of experience (Family Continuity considers lived experience (personal or familial) with the mental health system a valuable asset)

  • Current driver's license, proper auto insurance coverage, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the community

  • Access to personal cell phone

  • Must become First Aid/CPR certified if not currently

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings
