Vectrus Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer in Patuxent River, Maryland

At V2X, we are making a difference by providing support to programs at NAVAIR . This office is responsible for research, development, acquisition, and sustainment of the Navy's Autonomous Aircraft program . We are looking for a Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer to support the execution of Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) research and development (R&D) programs by working with customers to develop strategy to test advanced capabilities, identify and verify gaps, verify requirements, and define project test objectives and test plans. This position is located on-site in Patuxent River, MD and requires the candidate to have an active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

  • Support and coordinate technical reviews, evaluation of test plans, prepare test security concepts of operation, and monitor and report team and contract test status / execution.

  • Support the development of acquisition and technical documentation.

  • Serve as the senior test engineering focal point for coordination of test project status and test execution throughout the design, engineering, integration, test and program execution process.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for test and evaluation execution, test coordination and communication of test and evaluation (T&E) concerns and issues with program management and technical leadership.

  • Coordinate functions between government and contractor project leads and project engineers along with the T&E subject matter experts, warfighters, and military leaders involved in program test execution.

  • Support and provide insight to determine the effectiveness of project execution and recommend modifications to task processes for future project activities or design reviews.

  • Work with the Project Management and Task Lead(s) to develop out year planning for future capabilities, and provide input to road maps for analysis, risk reduction, development and integration of advanced capabilities.

  • Analyze contractor proposals as permitted by law and regulation.

  • Develop, execute, monitor and report status on multiple assigned project task efforts including analysis-of test data.

  • Occasional (20-30%) travel is required for this position.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, or Test Engineering, Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

    Required Experience / Skills:

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in systems test engineering and test and evaluation processes.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).

  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience coordinating operations across multiple organizational boundaries.

  • Experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained, and complex security environment.
