Support Equipment Engineering-Technician I

Job Responsibilities: Assists technicians in performing planned maintenance and corrosion treatment/prevention measures on SE, tools, and other equipment. Conductsand documents daily tool inventories, inspects/maintains shop personal protective equipment (PPE), performs custodial tasks, and will be trained inthe operation of a standard forklift and overhead crane. Physical activities include regular walking, kneeling, light to heavy lifting (>35 lbs.), and/orclimbing. May be required to perform other tasks as needed. Travel is anticipated to be approximately 120 hours per year. Position is located inPatuxent River, MD. Requisition ESI0088.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must demonstrate the ability to assist technicians and engineers in the testing, repair, and modification of common and peculiarSupport Equipment (SE) for military aircraft.
  • Needs to be proficient in the use of common mechanical shop tools and test equipment, as well as demonstrate the ability to useMicrosoft Office products to manage databases and generate basic test documents.
  • Must possess a valid state drivers license, be able to acquire applicable SE licenses in support of daily activities, and be able toobtain/retain a DoD security clearance.
