Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May perform cyber forensic analysis in responses to cyber threats in hardware and software environments.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

  • Develops and maintains operational security posture to ensure classified information systems (IS) security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.

  • Initiates, updates, and maintains classified information system authorization information in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS). Prepares and updates all artifacts and control documentation in accordance with the current version of the DCSA Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM).

  • Performs auditing, testing, vulnerability / risk assessment analysis to support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) for all levels system classification levels. Oversees changes to all systems and assesses the security impact of those changes.

  • Provides configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.

  • Prepares and reviews documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, A&A packages, and Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM).

  • Applies a full range of Information Assurance (IA) policies, principles, and techniques to maintain security integrity of information systems processing classified information.

  • Maintains records on workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, intelligent hubs, network switches, etc. to include system upgrades.

  • Ensure all Assured Information Security (AIS) authorization documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.

  • Assists the Facility Security Officer with all required security controls for classified information systems and performs the day-to day security operation of those systems.

  • Provides support for a program, organization, system, or enclave's information assurance program.

    Material & Equipment Directly Used:

  • Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.

  • Proficient in the use of computers and computer software programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field or equivalent highly desired.

  • COMP TIA, Security+ Certification

    Clearance Requirement:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active DoD Secret level Security Clearance.

    Experience / Skills:

  • Four (4) years of experience managing classified information systems.

  • Documented experience using eMASS.

  • Uses up-to-date technical knowledge, skills, and experience to effectively perform jobs and contribute to the success of the department.

  • Takes initiative to lead and supports team members in dealing with change.

  • Displays effective problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
