Summary

The Control Room Operator monitors and adjusts system control points within each unit operation. The Control Room Operator reports mechanical malfunctions to achieve maximum performance while minimizing loss of recovery. The Control Room Operator will support clean up, shut downs and start ups by performing “bumping” of equipment during LOTO situations as well as support the sanitation staff with auto sequences for chemical distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures system control points within each unit operation are monitored and adjusted appropriately to meet operational goals and customer specifications.

  • Monitors and Adjusts processing functions including, but not limited to: peelers, water knives, wet grading, blanching, ingredient addition, drying, frying, freezing, budgeted pounds, recovery, oil usage, retail percent, and energy conservation.

  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and respond to all troubleshooting situations in the process area. Demonstrates knowledge of Delta V.

  • Ensures that other process data is monitored and recorded in MMS.

  • Ensures operational procedures are efficiently and safely followed.

  • Ensures necessary level of communication is maintained with team members and support groups regarding line conditions.

  • Monitors process control to maintain sizing, uniformity, color, texture, solids, product temperatures and defect loading.

  • Ensures the correct and accurate completion of all written paperwork required of the position.

  • Must demonstrate basic math skills.
