General Dynamics Bath Iron Works Sr. Design Supervisor-2024-4120 in Pascagoula, Mississippi

This is a job for a Sr. Design Supervisor position with a company located in Pascagoula, MS.

Job Summary: Responsible for the supervision of all DDG 1000 Planning Yard work performed by the BIW on-site design team at the Huntington Ingalls Shipyard.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assignment of DDG 1000 PY design personnel to various on-site support, ship check, and design tasks. Review and approval of CFR & LAR responses developed by the DDG 1000 PY Design team. Development of scopes, estimates, manning requirements, and schedule coordination for DDG 1000 PY availability support, ship checks, and design work in the DDG 1000 PY MS office. Act as primary point of contact for distance support for DDG 1000 Planning Yard engineering and design in Maine. Act as primary point of contact for emergent waterfront issues. Act as primary point of contact for DDG 1000 PY ship check teams on assignment in MS. Work with the Navy, ship's force, and HII to coordinate ship checks performed at HII by DDG 1000 PY personnel.

Required/Preferred Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling and budgeting processes required. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Strong computer skills required. Ability to work in a dynamic, rapid response environment required. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple competing assignments required.

Required/Preferred Experience: Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Demonstrated experience with various engineering/design disciplines preferred. Knowledge of DDG 1000 Class ship and shipboard systems preferred. Knowledge of Navy standard items preferred. Knowledge of Planning Yard procedures preferred. This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance.  You must be a US Citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire.
