Job Description

Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

Primary task:

Primary developer for the design and development of U.S. Navy DDG, LPD, and LHA Class electrical system training products. Prior experience with the instructional design process as it pertains to designing and developing training products is required. Training development for U.S. Navy ships is a plus, but not required. Applicant will develop and teach DDG 51, LPD 17, and LHA 6 Class electrical system power generation, distribution, and control systems to Precom Navy Personnel. Must be able to perform shipboard operational training in an industrial environment and conduct instructor led classes.

15% travel to Pre-Commissioning Detachments is expected.

Training in the instructional design process and prior shipboard engineering and electrical training required. Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, be able to work within a highly motivated team environment, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in a classroom and shipboard environment. 4 years or greater experience is required.
