ECS Federal LLC Data Analyst (14822) in Pascagoula, Mississippi

This is a Data Analyst position with a company in Pascagoula, MS.

Summary: ECS is seeking a full-time Data Analyst to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries), Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) in Pascagoula, MS. A well-qualified candidate will have experience in auditing or inspections, reviewing documents, and customer service. If you are looking to be an instrumental part of a growing, employee and customer-focused company working on exciting issues in program compliance and other conservation issues, we want to hear from you. NOAA Fisheries requires timely review and entry of the data, auditing, quality control, and quality assurance of such data. This is paramount to ensuring data quality and to meet program objectives.

Responsibilities: These activities include randomly selecting entries for audit, sending audit selection form letters to importers, receiving, organizing, and evaluating information in response to audit notices, and any follow-up communication with importers. Activities also include:

  1) identifying and communicating problems and efficiency issues related to the auditing and data review, 2) navigating, locating, and providing feedback on programmatic documentation in NOAA Fisheries' International Trade Data System (ITDS) interface, and 3) assisting with document preparations.

Qualifications: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance, which requires passing a thorough background check. US citizenship required per contract. 1+ years of experience performing audits or similar inspections for compliance, reviewing documents, or data analysis and management. Experience reviewing and entering data into electronic platforms. Experience using Microsoft and Google software (e.g., Excel, Access, Gmail, Google Drive). Experience reviewing and entering complex data from hardcopy documents accurately into electronic databases. Chain of Custody and general traceability review and analysis.

 Process oriented and attentive to detail.

 Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and meet with deadlines. Great communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Foreign language proficiency is desired.
