Robert Half has an opening for an experienced, driven Senior Accountant to provide leadership and know-how to a growing team. This is a permanent opportunity in the Pasadena, Texas area. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position offers a great long-term growth potential, including a strong compensation and benefits package for the candidate. We are seeking an individual with strong analytical skills that excels working in a challenging and fast-paced work environment while contributing to the continued success of the firm.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives

  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

  • Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

    Requirements - Experience in SOX control execution/documentation

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Able to manage time well

  • ERP system experience

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Experience with journal entries

  • Proficiency in WIP - Work In Progress

  • Project accounting experience

  • Project Cost experience preferred

  • Proven knowledge of month end closings

  • Foundational knowledge in percentage (%) of completion

  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
