Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of general ledger entries and other accounting functions.

In this role you will prepare various daily entries to include treasury stock purchases, investment purchases, maturities, correcting entries, amongst others.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze and prepare monthly prepaid, expense accrual and other general ledger entries including but not limited to investment accruals and stock-based compensation.

  • Responsible for lease accounting, adding and maintaining leases and generate general ledger entries in the lease accounting software.

  • Review and post workflow expense accruals from the Accounts Payable module.

  • Import automated entries into Prologue, including property management expenses and ADP payroll.

  • Maintain fixed assets, including set up and maintenance on Prologue, maintain inventory for individual locations and departments, prepare depreciation schedules for corporate tax returns.

  • Analyze and prepare monthly accrual entries and quarterly fair values of ESOP(Employee Stock Ownership)

  • Assist with the accounting for various subsidiaries, preparing journal entries as necessary.

  • Responsible for oversight and maintenance of the general ledger systems.

  • Maintenance of procedures related to job responsibilities.

Ancilary Functions

  • Input wire transfers as needed.

  • Respond to internal and external audit inquiries.

  • Backup Finance and Accounting staff as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 2+ year of accounting or related experience

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles

  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills

  • Knowledge of MS 365, Word, Excel, and general ledger system

  • Knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures
