Lincoln Technical Institute Network Engineer in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey

Lincoln Tech has an exciting opportunity for you as a Network Engineer in our Parsippany, NJ Corporate office. As a member of the Network Infrastructure Group, you will work closely with team members to ensure our core network systems are resilient, scalable, and secure. You will also assist in all aspects of Lincoln's internal and external voice and data networks, including architecture, engineering, operations, and support for network services at all our sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tier I and II corporate and campus support for data networking issues, including wireless connectivity.

  • Communicate effectively and efficiently to escalate outages or issues to the proper team and/or vendors.

  • Contribute to the development of reliable network performance and availability and to identify necessary improvements.

  • Work with senior network engineers in the planning and managing of network infrastructure projects and system upgrades.

  • Help document current and future network architecture and technology.

  • Assist with asset management of network inventory.

  • Lift network equipment for rack and stack installations

Working Environment:

Available by company mobile device(s) to provide technical support at all times in the event of system problems. This position will require working onsite at least two days a week in Parsippany, NJ. Flexibility to work outside normal business hours is required.

Travel:

Travel in the local vicinity to data centers and several neighboring campuses. Less frequent travel is required to support campuses throughout the United States. Travel is determined by construction, project, and network requirements.

  • 2-4 years experience in an operational support role.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with routing and switching, preferably in a Cisco environment.

  • Some exposure to any of the following technologies would be a plus.

  • Cisco or Palo Alto firewalls.

  • Enterprise WiFi environments such as Cisco, Aruba, or Juniper MIST.

  • Extreme Networks switching and routing.

  • SDWAN technology.

  • Network Documentation abilities with a working knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are required.

  • Highly organized and able to deliver on commitments.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, department staff, vendors, and customers.

  • The ideal candidate will be someone who just received their CCNA or is actively working towards one.

  • Candidates should live within commuting distance of Parsippany, NJ and must have a valid driver's license.
