Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision of the County Attorney and immediate supervision by the Office Manager, performs work of moderate to considerable difficulty in obtaining information on criminal and civil cases; prepares criminal cases for trial; facilitates the diversion/deferral program; performs related work and other duties as required or assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a case management system with electronic software to include extensive data entry.
  • Retrieve booking sheets and process according to office procedures.
  • Access and print full reports from Spillman software.
  • Obtain all certified document requests.
  • Process all felony fugitive documents and Governors warrants.
  • Process all long form requests including entering data.
  • Update ADRS and process all disposition requests.
  • Assist in the preparation of cases for trial as needed.
  • Locate witnesses and victims in criminal and civil matters.
  • Administers and facilitates the Diversion / Deferral Program including risk needs assessments, performs caseload management activities; reviews cases, schedules appointments, prepares informal contracts and enters progress notes in case files regarding Diversion/Deferral Program.
  • Coordinates with other agencies; develops case history; monitors compliance of imposed terms and conditions by consulting with outside service providers or other agencies from the office or other secure locations regarding Diversion/Deferral Program.
  • Composes and writes correspondence; updates and maintains database and filing system regarding Diversion/Deferral Program.
  • Understand and interpret complex written documents and conduct research and prepare reports with sound recommendations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain appropriate security and confidentiality of information created or encountered in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Adhere to the current La Paz County Attorneys Office policies and procedures.
