At Snap Lab in Paris, we develop Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology to revolutionize the way humans interact with AR. We’re looking for a talented Python software engineer to join to shape the future of our real-time neural processing pipeline.

What you’ll do

  • Use strong software engineering principles to build new solutions for real-time neural-interfacing, and improve our existing codebase.

  • Build comprehensive data management systems for scalable data collection, labeling, processing, and evaluation across multiple teams.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet internal needs, including CI/CD/CT systems and logging pipelines.

  • Ensure systems are simple, fast, and secure.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Robust software engineering skills, and a track record of building custom tools that fit internal needs across a large range of teams including CI/CD/CT systems, logging pipelines, etc.

  • Expertise in Python programming with a proven track record of successful project implementation

  • Knowledge of numerical libraries like numpy, scipy, or pandas

  • Thorough understanding of programming fundamentals such as OOP, data structures and algorithm design

  • Good command of multiprocessing techniques for efficient event-based processing on devices in the context of machine learning applications

  • Strong enthusiasm for code quality, and desire to build long-standing and stable systems

  • Familiarity with software engineering deployment methods (containerization, continuous integration/continuous deployment, shell scripting)

  • Strong communication skills in English

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 3+ years industry experience with software development or infrastructure engineering

  • Track record of building custom tools in Python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in statistics, signal processing, optimization, and machine learning

  • Experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • Experience with key infra technologies like NoSQL solutions (ElasticSearch for example), Kubernetes, Google/AWS services

  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, JAX, etc.

  • Experience working with real-time signals, or time-series data

  • Experience building hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure, in a codified manner, and with an understanding of the trade-offs of cloud vs on-prem solutions

  • Experience administrating modern Linux systems in production environments; Systems administration experience on Windows and macOS is welcome.
