Weber Metals CNC Operator I in Paramount, California

Hourly Range: $23.25 - $26.00 + shift premium

3rd Shift

Reporting to the Head of Machining Operations, the CNC Operator I is responsible for operating CNC machine tools, including 5-axis gantry mills, vertical and horizontal milling centers, horizontal and vertical turning centers, etc. in support of production and development machining. Critical thinking and collaboration are required to evaluate and resolve unique equipment and product issues in a demanding production environment.

Core responsibilities include:

All functions of a Machining Helper

Navigate the necessary functions of the ERP system

Perform daily inspection at workcenter

Report any equipment maintenance issues (SAP or notify supervisor)

Support mechanical repairs of equipment

Report uptime/downtime on all jobs worked

Understand, identify, and report basic quality issues

Safely operate CNC milling machines under minimal supervision

Safely operate CNC turning machines under minimal supervision

Use of metrology equipment: height gage, scale, Dial Indicator, micrometer, verniers

Qualifications:

Must be able to comply with ITAR and EAR residency requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of machining procedures and practices

Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)

Proven track record of operating safe facilities.

Fluent in English; Bi-lingual is a plus

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment operating CNC mills and lathes.
