Why You Should Apply For This Job:

The position is deemed necessary to assist and mentor, the incumbent will ensure the attainment of scheduled tonnage in a sustainable fashion efficiently, within the approved budget and foremost all delivered safely.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Help ensure production start-up of production block 4.

  2. Help in the successful implementation of the production automation processes, MineGem, Midroc, Minestar and MST, with the aim of maximizing their productivity.

  3. Coordinate with the General Superintendent / Manager, the monitoring of expenditures to operate within budget.

  4. Establish systems and procedure with the General Superintendent / Manager to help ensure smooth and efficient production to avoid confusion and miscommunications.

  5. Conduct risk analysis on all production activities and propose contingency measures to mitigate potential negative impacts.

  6. Support in the estimate of resources (manpower, equipment, budget) required to sustain production.

  7. Work closely with the DMLZ Production Engineering department for production schedule in order to develop strategies and guidance to attain targets.

  8. Review and analyze the current system and suggest improvement opportunities to the advisee.

  9. Guide, monitor and control department safety programs tracking of departmental safety accountabilities, regular safety inspections, identifying new safety approaches, etc., in order to achieve and ensure that all safety procedures are met in the delivery of KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering with at least ten (10) years of total working experience working in mining operations.

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in underground mining and Superintendent level exposure.

  • Skilled in managing or running a mine operation while implementing and/or complying strictly with world accepted mining standards.

  • Understanding of the implementation of development and construction plans for new underground mines.

  • Experience managing and supervising the success of subordinates of diverse experience, culture, and education.

  • Ability to make appropriate and critical decisions in a timely fashion.

  • Ability to coordinate with other departments and stakeholders effectively.

  • Capable of handling problems and issues systematically and professionally.

  • Ability to communicate and influence operational colleagues to ensure that operational plans are executed in accordance with priority and overall mining strategy.

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and train a team of Engineers.

  • Ability to communicate and present work activities.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a diverse cultural environment.

  • Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.

  • Other PTFI mandatory competencies
