Trane Technologies Environmental Health & Safety Manager in Panama City, Florida

Trane Technologies is seeking to hire the next EHS Leader at our Lynn Haven, FL plant. This facility manufactures commercial HVAC products.

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager supports the site EHS program by providing environmental, health and safety training, implementation of EHS programs, enforcement of policies and procedures and recommending improvements. The position is also responsible for driving world class standards in manufacturing processes, directing, and promoting safe and healthy working conditions, assessing, inspecting, and recommending measures for the reduction and elimination of environmental, safety and health risks. This position also develops EHS programs, inspects satellite accumulations and hazardous waste storage areas, provides oversight of the inspection, testing, and maintenance of EHS protective systems, and assures operations comply with applicable EHS laws/regulations, good business practices and company requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains EHS policies, procedures, and methods to drive overall EHS performance excellence.

  • Provides technical expertise, training, guidance and coaching on all EHS matters to all levels of plant personnel.

  • Drives and sustains a comprehensive and pro-active safety culture.

  • Develops EHS processes and procedures that reduce accidents, injuries and losses and prevents regulatory violations

  • Leads safety committee meetings as a technical resource

  • Proactively identifies and promptly addresses EHS issues which may affect personnel and operations.

  • Execute action plans to reduce worker injury rates.

  • Collects and tracks and reports EHS metrics.

  • Conducts site and process EHS inspections, evaluations, and training; OSHA programs, hazardous waste, SPCC, SWPP, SDS, secondary container labeling, hazardous waste accumulation areas, hazardous waste storage, storm water management, etc.

  • Oversee process safety management (PSM)

  • Create and communicate EHS reports as requested.

  • Provide oversight and scheduling of inspection, testing and maintenance of EHS protective systems.

  • Conducts workplace inspections for compliance with safety regulations and corporate safety standards.

  • Participate in the Gemba and MDI process

  • Conducts Behavior Based Safety (BBS) observations, FMEA, ergonomic, and other assessments as requested.

  • Provide technical oversight of the on-site industrial wastewater pretreatment facility

  • Maintains procedures to minimize waste and ensure environmental compliance with EPA regulations and drive energy reduction efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (EHS related field preferred)

  • 7+ years direct EHS experience in manufacturing.

  • Proficient in OSHA standard - PSM, EPA, NFPA regulations and compliance.

  • RCA, Problem solving and analytical thinking.

  • Behavioral based safety experience.

  • Lean Transformational experience preferred.

Base Pay Range: $110,000 - $145,000
