Purpose and Objective:

Ariba, Inc. seeks a Senior Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, quality assurance of complex product features in a development team.

Expectations and Tasks:

Design, build and deploy highly scalable cloud-based Java applications. Design and build REST APIs. Build Frontend applications. Resolve complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving issues. Shows initiative and drives topics to resolution in a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency. Works closely together with others and shares expertise to ensure product success. Constantly improves own work methods to gain state-of-the-art agile software engineering skills. Enhances skills beyond own core functional focus and works on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Has advanced overall product and technical knowledge and shares expertise within and across team and organization. Has advanced knowledge of development processes and product standards. Coaches the Development Team in self-organization. Removes impediments to the Development Team's progress.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology Management or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. The Company will also accept a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology Management or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Work Experience:

Experience must involve four (4) years in the following:

Design, build, and architect high-volume web applications with scalability and high availability;

Develop on Relational Database management systems including Oracle and SAP HANA;

JDBC, JPA, Hibernate, SQL, PL/SQL, schema design and query optimization;

Full Stack development using OOP language and microservice framework including Spring boot and Spring cloud;

Develop UI with reusable components using framework including Angular, HTML, CSS, JS, and Typescript;

Complete product development life cycle (PDLC);

Design and build RESTful APIs with JSON, XML, and DTD;

Event-based architecture including Kafka and Caching;

Test framework code coverage with Junit and Karma; and

Continuous integration and tools including Maven, Docker, Jenkins, IntelliJ IDEA, and Git.

Travel: N/A. Telecommuting permitted.
