Matanuska Telecom Association Survey Field Assistant in Palmer, Alaska

[We are searching for an experienced Survey Field Assistant at our Palmer Plant Bldg facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

[Assist Land Surveyor and/or Party Chief in staking field surveys for construction and clearing. Helping in office in preparing for upcoming work through research of property maps, deeds and basic CAD tasks.]{segoe="" ui",="" arial,="" sans-serif"=""}]{segoe="" ui",="" arial,="" sans-serif"=""}

SPECIFIC TASK DESCRIPTION

  1. Setting up and taking down of Survey instruments including GPS base station and radio repeater, Robotic Total Stations and back sights.
  2. Carry and utilize lath bag containing stakes, cutting and digging tools, hammers, tape, flagging, etc.., for use in marking routes for clearing and construction.
  3. Assist maintaining inventory of supplies in survey vehicles to assure adequate stocks of stakes, flagging, ect..
  4. Participate in office preparation of upcoming survey work including locating appropriate files, documents and related materials. Some CAD experience and willingness to learn is required.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

[EDUCATION: High School Diploma, GED, or some college **WORK EXPERIENCE: Some surveying experience preferred but not required. Preference given for office and or field surveying experience.
