Aerotek Unmanned Aircraft Technician in Palmdale, California

Aerotek on behalf of its client is seeking aircraft mechanics interested in working on unmanned air systems. We will consider candidates with experience on all types of aircraft. This is a long term, direct hire position. Resume & interview prep service offered.

  • Minimum 4+ years of aircraft maintenance & troubleshooting experience on resume to be considered.

  • Pay starts at $31-33/hour without prior unmanned aircraft experience. $34+/hour for prior unmanned platform experience.

  • A&P preferred, but not required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Candidate will service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain aircraft and ground support equipment in support of test operations and sustainment activities in accordance with maintenance documentation. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot aircraft and engine systems to determine related problems to identify possible solutions. Inspect powerplant and related components at regular intervals adhering to company approved procedures, maintenance manuals, and/or government technical order requirements.

  • Review records to ensure all required documentation is completed in accordance with established company procedures for government and customer technical order requirements.

  • Perform all launch and recovery tasks of aircraft to include ground operations, pre and postflight items, ground observer responsibilities, and inspect, test, maintain and operate ground support equipment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/PREFERENCES:

  • Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance (required for Deployable/OCONUS positions)

  • Must be able to meet ITAR requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four or more years of aircraft mechanical maintenance experience.

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License is desired.

  • Will consider candidates with experience on all types of aircraft

  • Experience in Aviation repair and maintenance (fabrication experience is not a fit)

PAY:

Without prior unmanned experience:

  • Aircraft Technician I - $31/hour

  • Aircraft Technician II - $33/hour

For $34-43/hour:

  • You must have previous experience any platform: MQ-1C Gray Eagle, MQ-9A Reaper, and MQ-9B SkyGuardian, SeaGuardian, or Protector systems.
