Lockheed Martin RF Test Engineer - Skunk Works - Level 5 - Active Secret Clearance in Palmdale, California

Description: This position will lead the Range Engineer group for the Various Measurement Facilities for testing Radar Cross Section and Antenna, which requires a dynamic individual who is capable of multitasking and working without supervision.

This exciting role will offer the opportunity to work in an organization that is all about RF.

The range engineer will have the opportunity to help define technical direction of the ranges.

The range engineer will contribute to the completion of RF/Microwave and Electro/Mechanical engineering tasks

The range engineer will be the technical leader on development programs and site equipment projects.

The range engineer will have the opportunity to participate in design reviews, ensuring good design practices are in place.

Designs and develops RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test.

Will oversee the maintenance and repair of the target pits, pylons, hoist systems, model rotators, and control systems. The successful candidate will have the ability to troubleshoot complex computer, electrical, electronic control, and hydraulic systems. Must be able to read blueprints, and electrical schematics.

Must be willing to work any shift and odd or extended hours in support of the test schedule. The ability to perform when working under light discipline conditions and from elevated platforms at heights up to 100 feet is required. Must have the ability to be certified on forklifts, elevated platforms, tugs, and bridge and knuckle cranes is required. The candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills. A combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent to the degree requirement. A case-by-case evaluation will occur. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. An active Top Secret security clearance with a current background investigation is required for this position.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience testing, troubleshooting and fault isolation in RF avionics systems.

Experience in design of complex RF and Microwave and electromechanical systems

Experienced in establishing and assessing the performance of complex RF systems, as well as monitoring, troubleshooting, isolating failures and removing/replacing failed components in such systems

Experienced working in all operations of indoor or outdoor RCS measurement facility.

Experienced in operating and maintaining the Facilities test equipment, radar, hoist, lift, rotate and flip systems, and calibration systems.

Experience in dealing with customer representatives and in coordinating actions with other contractors.

Desired Skills:

RCS or antenna measurement experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of desktop application software.

Experience leading successful technical projects / RF engineering is desired

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $134,300 - $257,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $154,400 - $290,900. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
