Essential Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medial Director and Director of Respiratory Therapy, a Respiratory / Pulmonary Technician / Educator is responsible for the ABG analyzers and their maintenance, running, calibration, and quality control. He/she must possess specialized knowledge and skill in traditional bronchoscopies, specialized bronchoscopies (EBUS, ENB, BT’s); as well as bedside PFT’s. He/she will also be responsible for introductory to advanced training for new hire and experienced employees on said procedures, as appropriate, and all respiratory therapies and equipment used to administer care to patient populations from pediatric to adult. Lastly, he/she must also establish and maintain effective working relationships and good customers service skills with physicians, and all other health care professionals, and patients as well as with their family members while upholding PRMC’s organizational mission and commitment to providing high quality healthcare in a compassionate and efficient manner.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 5 years of Respiratory Therapy experience with emphasis on Pulmonary Methods required

  • General education level (high school). One or 2 years post secondary education program specializing in Respiratory Therapy.

  • Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and CPI is required within 30 days of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and the general public.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical/clinical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
