Active secret with an investigation within last 6 years or Continuous Evaluation enrollment.

This position is for an Airframe Structure Design Engineer for an Advanced Development Programs (ADP) effort in Palmdale, CA. A successful candidate will apply technical expertise in developing solutions to aircraft structural design problems. This position will require a successful applicant to develop airframe design solutions under general direction and independently. They will coordinate efforts across a wide range of functional organizations, such as Quality Assurance, Planning, Tooling, Structural Analysis, Materials & Processes, Flight Sciences, Production Operations, Flight Test, and various other engineering disciplines. Candidate will work production floor support from receipt of problem, coordination of answer to release of engineering change. Designs, develops, and tests a variety of power plants, aircraft, missiles, and parts, taking into consideration the most efficient use of the natural laws affecting flight. Establishes structural specifications, performs stress analysis, and conducts performance tests.

Skills:

• Experience with 3D Experience or CATIA V5

• Experience with metallic and composite design

• Experience with mechanism design

• Experience with subsystem installation design

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Experience with structural analysis for preliminary sizing

Required Skills:

CATIA V5 or V6 (3DX)

Structure design experience
