Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking Semiconductor Process Technicians for the Microelectronics Operations Business Unit at our Palm Bay, FL location. As a Semiconductor Process Technician, you will support a variety of semiconductor processing steps, assist Process Engineering with experiments for development work, identify quality and cycle time improvements, and provide training to new hires. You will have regular interactions with other process technicians, operations management, and a variety of engineering teams for the purpose of coordinating work and communicating any non-conformances.

Ideal candidates will be able to perform the following essential functions:

  • Qualify, setup, and operate semiconductor process equipment using written work instructions

  • Perform process verification metrology or inspection steps for each process step performed

  • Enter statistical process control (SPC) data into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Perform documented out of control action plans (OCAPs) for processes failing SPC limits

  • Identify process and/or equipment issues and escalate to the appropriate issue owner

  • Document and escalate quality and procedural non-conformances to the appropriate issue owner

  • Perform calculations to determine process conditions

  • Create test wafers, perform documented process qualification tests, and qualify equipment according to schedules

  • Perform design of experiment (DOEs) tests defined by Process Engineering counterparts

  • Identify process improvement ideas and work with Process Engineering to test and implement them

  • Perform on-the-job training for incoming new hires as the team grows

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment

    The candidate(s) that obtain this position will need to have the ability to transition to a compressed work week schedule in Q2 of 2024 (timeline not guaranteed):

    • Compressed Shift 1A (Sun, Mon, Tue e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)
  • Compressed Shift 1B (Thu, Fri, Sat e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)

    This role may provide relocation assistance to the selected candidate(s) if minimum requirements are met.

    This role may offer a taxable sign-on bonus in the amount of $5,000 to the selected candidate(s).

    Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

  • 2+ years’ experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing operations

  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

  • Ability to transition to a compressed work week schedule in Q2’2024(timeline not guaranteed):

  • Compressed Shift 1A (Sun, Mon, Tue e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)

  • Compressed Shift 1B (Thu, Fri, Sat e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)

  • Previous experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Advanced packaging processing (e.g., wafer bonding, die bonding, C4, surface mount technology)

  • Wafer-level processing (e.g., lithography, wet etch, dry etch, PVD, PECVD, CMP, metrology)

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance

  • Experience working in classified government programs

  • Previous experience working in a Class 100 cleanroom

  • Previous experience using commercial Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

  • Previous experience with SPC and performing OCAPs

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills
