Job Summary

Assist the Director of Quality Assurance in managing our Quality Assurance & Biosecurity Programs for the assigned facility.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform internal audits of Quality Assurance, HACCP and Biosecurity Programs and work with plant personnel on corrective action.
  • Accompany customers on Quality Assurance and Feed Safety audits at the plant.
  • Assist the Director of Quality Assurance with the management of the company's antioxidant application program.
  • Assist with the company's customer complaint program, working with the plant on corrective action and providing feedback to Sales for resolving complaints with customers.
  • Assist with the management of the company's Mock Recall Program and annual supplier Feed Safety Certifications.
  • Train plant management and personnel in Biosecurity, HACCP and GMP programs.
  • Contribute product development ideas and work on product development teams as appropriate.
  • Provide support to the company's two central analytical laboratories.
  • Work in other activities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Quality Management, Meat Science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in a quality-related role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HACCP certification preferred.
  • Experience with plant Quality Systems and HACCP/GMP Plan auditing is desirable.
  • Experience in the Pet Food Industry and with animal byproducts is desirable.
  • Excellent math skills, including statistical analysis.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated with superior time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
  • Work well with all levels of the corporation.
